Billion-plus affordable housing plan on Miami agenda
Miami’s city commission has yet to fully approve the affordable housing master plan, a strategy to address the city’s growing affordability crisis. But that could change this month, with the commission slated to take it up again, this time against the backdrop of a pandemic that could further compound the problem.
At last week’s virtual meeting, commissioners set a special meeting for 11 a.m. Oct. 15 to discuss the housing master plan and the challenges and potential remedies related to the affordability crisis. While commissioners deferred the master plan item to Oct. 22 for a vote, they’ll still be able to take action during the special meeting if so inclined.
